Did you know that Botox is often times used to treat unwanted chin wrinkle formation? In the medical spa industry, we refer to this as peau d’orange – a term that describes the skin as being similar to the surface of an orange peel. When many patients animate, their chin muscles contract. In doing so, the underlying chin muscles create a wrinkle that gives the skin the appearance of an orange peel. Fortunately, Botox is incredibly effective at treating these chin wrinkles. In most instances, only a small amount of Botox is needed to accomplish this (compared to Botox injection of the frown muscles, for example). If you are unhappy with chin wrinkle formation, contact our medical spa staff today to schedule your appointment with our amazing RN, Kellie Hartmann.
